Family and Friends, please comment, my site has been down for some time. I would very much prefer to use this blog as opposed to email to distribute my Morning Devotionals. Thanks, Gipp Cheatham, a Patriotic Christian and Veteran of the USAF. 1961 through 1972. Served in the aircraft maintenance field from 1964 to 1972. I can tell you I Grew Up quickly in the USAF! My first overseas station was the Panama Canal, which President Jimmy Carter GAVE away. I experienced the assassination of President John F Kennedy while serving there! Something that lives within me each and every day of my life! Panama was my first experience living in a foreign land! You talk about a “Wake Up Call!” As a child, I grew up around two grandparent families, both farmers. That environment is where I learned “The” Life lesson: If you do not work, you do not eat! Both my Grandfathers and their sons, while they were still at home helping on the farm and going to K-12, helped me experience the meaning of work and fun. One example was as a preschooler, I had the wonderful experience of my uncles squirting me with milk from the milk cows they were milking as I walked through the barn, “gawking” at them! Ah, those were the good ‘old’ days! One more example and I will stop B4 I lose y’all! Discipline: When I was in Jr. High School in good ‘ol’ Enterprise, Alabama, the Principal of the High School had a baseball bat modified in the woodworking shop as follows: at 180 degrees, the circumference of the barrel of the bat was flattened to create a sticking surface for the But-ox of the body thus inflicting great pain on the individual, while at the same time this individual was bent over at the waist holding his ancles in anticipation of the incoming PAIN, and standing in front of his partially opened office door, they would rush out quickly after the blow was administered by him, standing in the “at bat position” B4 hitting the home run thus sending the individual back to his class room! This process was fully known throughout the Enterprise School System! Needless to say, the Bat was infrequently used! Now that is discipline anyone can appreciate and strive to manage their behavior at an acceptable level! The Woke, Be Nice approach to discipline is “Why we are in this mess?” Think Genius 1:27, God had a purpose, FAMILY! IT is that simple!
